Terms and Conditions

Parking and congestion charges.

Costs incurred by our fitters in parking or entering a congestion charging area are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend customers obtain visitors car permit long enough to cover job as this is often the cheapest and most simple.
Parking can be reimbursed to the fitter in cash for the parking on the day or can be added to bill (this will incur a 30% charge to cover vat and admin costs)
If you live in the congestion charge zone we will add £10 to your bill to cover this. This is Non-refundable if the job is cancelled by the customer.
There will be no additional road costs unless you are located more than 20 miles from our nearest fitter (in which case an excess mileage fee @ 50p per mile will be calculated based on the extra distance). We will always advise you if this is the case before we book the job.

Delivery.

It is essential that all items to be assembled are in or adjacent to their correct rooms so insist they are delivered there.
Ikea's new delivery service Breezemount will deliver to any floor to the room of choice as long as the stairs are not to narrow etc. (confirmed with Ikea online customer service rep 08/12/11)
We will charge a moving time cost of £20 to move items upstairs or if item/s are more than 4 metres from room.

Cancellation policy.

Jobs cancelled by the customer less than 24 hours before job window start time will incur a 1 hour callout charge of £45. If you or a nominated representative are not in when the fitter arrives (if within the 2hour time slot) this charge will also apply.

Appointment slot.

You will receive an arrival slot start time via text and email you have provided. Please be aware this is the start time of a 2hour time slot. If the fitter has not arrived after the 2 hours please call the fitter direct in the first instance. Their number is on the text sent to you.
We assign bookings for fitters to be able to arrive within these times however due to job over-runs, traffic etc it is occasionally not possible to arrive during the given time slot. We will try to let customers in advance if this is the case.
Unflatpack will not be responsible for any costs incurred by the client either directly or in Consequential loss

Repairs, hand cut work and wall fixing.

We can only fix units to the wall with the consent of the homeowner. We cannot however accept any responsibility for any damage which may be caused. We would also need to know about this in advance to ensure we have the correct tools and fixings to hand. The decision to fix to any wall would be at the discretion of the fitter once he is on site.
Any remedial repairs or alteration work must be agreed and signed before being carried out. This work is not covered under our workmanship guarantee and is the decision to go ahead is at the discretion of the fitter once he is on site. This work will be charged @£7.50 per quarter hour and must be signed off before hand on the job sheet

Work space.

Most furniture is assembled on its front on the floor and lifted up into position. There also must be sufficient space to move around the item. It is a good idea to put beds up on their sides if the room is small. If you need us to do this for you we will charge only time @£7.50 per quarter hour. And agreement to this must be signed off before hand on the job sheet.
We advise you move special personal belongings out of the room so as to avoid damage.

Rubbish removal.

We will ensure that all packaging has been tidied up, cardboard folded and collected neatly and that the work area is left clear.  We do not take the packaging off site.
Remember, as assembly is a paid for service, the boxes etc. are now considered commercial waste and as such may only be removed from the property by a licensed waste carrier (holding a public waste management licence).  The owner of the rubbish and also the dumper are open to prosecution if this is not observed.

Fitter job sheet and extras.

Please sign the fitter’s job sheet at the end of the job. In signing this you agree that the work has been carried out to your satisfaction and that payment is due.
Any items added or taken off will be noted on this sheet and the final bill will be amended at office level when the job is processed. The fitter will sign a customer copy to leave with you. Keep this; it is your 12 month workmanship guarantee

Payment.

Payment is due immediately upon completion of work

Late payments.

It is your responsibility to ensure that payment is made in full within 7 days from the completion of your work. On the 8th day we will add a 5% charge to the bill. After 30 days we will issue a claim to the small claims court.

Damaged or missing parts

Should it not be possible to complete an assembly due to a damaged or missing part, return visits will be charged at a minimum cost of £50 and subject to ongoing hourly charges of £30ph after the first hour.

Workmanship warranty

If our labor shall prove defective or incomplete within a period of 12 months from the date of the assembly, UKinstallation will make repairs at it's own cost and expense.
